Welcome to our wildlife blog for Greenhillock Glamping. After more than twenty years careful cultivation, Greenhillock is home to a rich and varied population of birds, insects, animals, native grasses and wildflowers. In Summer 2015 we opened Greenhillock to our first visitors. This was a good experience so, following a successful planning application, we took our first camping and glamping bookings from June 2016.
Our season lasts from late April to mid September and, whether you come for a day or stay all week, there are always interesting things to see and hear. On-site activities, such as bird spotting, pond dipping, tree identification, wildflower searching, fungi foraging and bug studies will keep you entertained. Some off-site nature activities are also being planned as we live close to both coastal and mountain environments.
Accommodation on site is in the form of luxury glamping in our well equipped bell tents or camping on spacious pitches set in the wildflower and hay meadows. Whether you choose to enjoy the wildlife from the tranquillity of your tent, explore the many nature trails, spend time enjoying displays in our Bug Zone or sketch and paint in the Art Shack, you will definitely leave feeling more relaxed, better informed and closer to the living world.
